Stressfree cattle handling, stockamnship

Why this is so important? Cows are affected by the stress of handling, and this stress can greatly impact growth, health and reproduction.

They will produce lighter carcass weight, less marbling and tougher beef when finished. Stressfree cattle handling have 3 purposes:

A stresszmentes tartás három fő célja:

  1. Health and productivity
  2. Naturale living
  3. Emotional well-being

Our cattle spend 8-10 months on grass living a free natural life. They graze, drink rest whenever they want.

Calving on grass reduces stress. That is why we have the calving season in spring (april-may) .

Great beef starts at birth. Within 24 hours of being born this little one will be ear tagged, tissue sample gathered, weighed and banded (bloodless castration). Our goal is to provide a low stress start so this one can do what he’s meant to do, and that’s provide great beef for your table.

After birth if we notice a sick calf we try to treat him individually by roping him on the field avoiding to move the whole herd into the chute. Weaning. The biggest stress after birth is weaning. We use FENCELINE WEANING when cows and calves put on the same pasture allowing contact (seeing, smelling, licking each other) but pereventing sucking.

Our working pens and chute based on Temple Grandin’s system and in work avoiding any type of sticks electric livestock prods, whips but using whip flags.

Horses are invaluable in our operation. In our ranch we move cattle on hosreback and using them daily in the ranch.
